This and That

Saturday, August 15, 2015

I usually have a self-imposed no computer rule on the weekends. But I find myself in an empty house this Saturday afternoon with a writing deadline for various assignments and a strong desire to show up here in this space.

The sun is shining, the window is open next to my desk and I can feel the breeze flowing in. I am listening to Hillsong's latest Worship Album Empires which is piercing me in the best way possible.

Here now
All I know is I know that You are
Here now
Still my heart
Let Your voice be all I hear now
Spirit breathe Like the wind come have Your way
Cause I know You're in this place

I am missing my Daddy today. It feels impossible that he's been gone for five months now. But it's getting a bit easier to smile when I think of him instead of cry.

School is starting back up in a few weeks and as always, I'm looking forward to it, but also dreading it at the same time. That's a weird way to describe it, but it makes total sense to me. I am excited for the rhythm of a routine, getting back into Barre classes after a summer hiatus, and having a break from refereeing the children. But I'm also dreading having to use an alarm clock, not having total control over our schedule, and the impending colder weather.

Either way, let's carry on!

I have plans to recap my recent trip to Chicago for you, a brand new playlist, and some links to posts I've written on various other blogs lately. All coming soon.

  1. Now, iOS 10 takes all those things and pushes them forward. The design is getting cleaner and more consistent. The architecture is becoming more open and convenient. The wiring, much smarter and even more secure. It's taken time — and pain — getting the physics, extensibility, and intelligence to this point. Now Apple gets to — and has to — pay it all off. to get more information go to cydianerd.
