Winter Comforts

Monday, February 2, 2015

So we're half way through winter and as I mentioned last week I CAN DO HARD THINGS! Only a couple more months of feeling cold 24 hours a day. I wanted to share a few things that are getting me through the chilliest days. I call them my Winter Comforts.

1 // Aerie Blanket Scarf
It took me a while to get the hang of wearing and styling this huge scarf but now it's definitely one of the coziest pieces of clothing in my winter wardrobe. Learn how to style a blank scarf here

2 // Argan Lip Balm
My mother-in-law introduced me to this amazing stuff that has literally saved my dry lips this winter. Apply it with your finger and it stays on so much longer than regular chapstick.

3 // LL Bean Thinsulate Snow Boots
These boots are all weather.  But what I love is that they're not too bulky or heavy to wear out running errands on a wet or snowy day.

4 // Twinnings English Breakfast Tea
I have never been a coffee or hot tea kinda girl. But this winter I was craving something warm in the afternoons. And perhaps Downton Abbey has worn off on me, because I am now loving this english black tea and I use a little Stevia and Almond milk to give it more flavor.  It's so Mary Crawley of me.

5 // Fixer Upper - a show on HGTV
Have you guys heard about this awesome show? It's a married couple in Waco, TX who totally gut, renovate, and decorate houses on a pretty tight budget. But my favorite part of the show is the fun dynamic between Chip & Joanna themselves. It's refreshing to see a couple on tv that have so much fun with each other! I've been recording all the past episodes I can find and love watching one each day over lunch. I also love Joanna's fashion sense, by the way.

6 // The Fireside Mix - A Spotify Playlist
I have been listening to this playlist non-stop. It definitely fits my winter mood of melancholy chillaxin.

What has been bringing you comfort this winter??
