April Goals

Friday, April 4, 2014

I am linking up with Hayley again to write out my monthly goals.  I just started doing this last month and found it to be a great way to put a little focus around what I'd like to accomplish.  This is not life-changing list.  It's just a fun way to keep a record of what I am aiming for, with loads of grace along the way.

Here's what I'm hoping to accomplish in April:

ORGANIZE // I've been meaning to create a gallery art wall of my kids artwork to hang along the blank wall that you see right when you walk in from the garage.  My two kids generate a crazy huge amount of artwork each week.  And I am a purger by nature, so I toss most of it.  But I'd like a coveted place to keep the most meaningful pieces.  My daughter beams with pride when I display her work. And the fridge just isn't cutting it anymore. Here's my inspiration pic.

ARTFUL // I am dreaming up a fun spring-timey photoshoot with the kids for an upcoming collaboration with a brand you are going to love! Can't wait to share.

CELEBRATE // For the first time ever, we are staying here at our house for Easter and it will just be the four of us.  And I'm really excited to create a few special Easter traditions with the kids including resurrection eggs, a backyard easter egg hunt, make a yummy menu for easter dinner and actually eat it in the dining room (which we never do).  I also want April to feel heavy with the true meaning of Easter. Guys, it's not about religion.

NEST // I can't WAIT to de-winterize our deck by pulling all the furniture out of storage and making it an easy place to hang out during the day. And for the first time in five years, I'd like to give some potted plants and hanging baskets a try. The last time I tried keeping flowers alive on my deck, it was an epic fail. Hoping I have a greener thumb now? One can only hope.  And I'd love to string up some lights, like this, since we like to hang out there in the evenings.

Here's to the start of a new season and a productive month!
