March Goals

Thursday, March 6, 2014

I am not so great at writing out daily goals and sticking to them.  But I do like the idea of having a few areas of my life to work on each month that inch me towards a better version of myself.  Hayley has been hosting a monthly link-up for anyone who decides to share their monthly goals.  I thought I would start joining in.  And it sure does give me a bit of accountability to share them publicly.

Mine are simple, and honestly pretty fun this month. I've organized them into several categories.

INNER BEAUTY // I want to finish the two books that I am currently reading. This one and this one.  They are both so fulfilling and I find myself going slower than usual to let everything sink in.

OUTER BEAUTY // Have y'all tried Barre?  It's a dancer's workout that focuses on sculpting and toning and using your own body weight as resistance. I am officially obsessed. It's honestly the most challenging and fun workout I have done in YEARS.  I found a local studio and my goal is to get there a minimum of eight times this month.  My booty is sore already!

ARTFUL // The formal living room in our house is 100% empty at the moment.  It was previously used as our playroom.  But since we finished our basement, the playroom has moved down there.  This means that I get to reclaim our living room as a space for me and allllll my dreaming and creating.  It should be fun to furnish and decorate a blank canvas like this.  I want to include a few little special touches for my daughter as well.  My goal this month is to simply get estimates on hardwood floor installation and paint.  I don't mind going slow and building the room one layer at a time.

FUN // I have been wanting to go out and see more live music this year.  So I'm excited to have a date on my calendar this month to go see a fave artist, Josh Garrels.

Should be a great month!

  6. Yay for you! I love your goals: simple & sustainable. Very nice. I have read Emily Freeman's book. Beautiful. So very something to hold onto are her words. I love that the eyes of an artist are in all of us; He put them there. Intrigued by your other book. I think I may nab it for a read myself. Have a wonderful weekend and happy March to you!
