Day 7 of 31 // Pretty Clutter

Monday, October 7, 2013

Behold what I like to call the "pretty clutter" that resides on my nightstand.  I glanced over at it the other day and realized I really love the way it looks.  Because it's a collection of all the things that are filling my mind and heart at this current moment, and maybe even represents who I hope to become.  Books that are teaching me, a bible study that is challenging me in the best way, magazines that are entertaining me, and journals that are beckoning me.

I want this table to be an ever-changing library of beautiful words, thoughts, and discoveries.  And I want it to be a little space you could go to one day when I'm gone, and understand what I was learning and striving for.

“You are the books you read, the films you watch, the music you listen to, and the people you meet. You are what you take from these. You are a collective of every experience you have ever had in your life. You are every second of every single day. So drown yourself in a sea of experience and existence. Let the words run through your veins and let the colors fill your mind until they overflow and you have no choice but to create and show the world who you have become”  ~Author Unknown

On another note, I just wanted to let you know that I created a Pinterest Board that includes many of the #31Days bloggers who I am reading along with this month!  So much inspiration.

This post is part of a series I'm writing for the month of October entitled "31 Days of Seeing the Art in Everyday Life."  See all other posts in this series by clicking here

  6. Bri, I feel the same way about the pretty clutter on the window sill next to my "quiet time chair". It's a reminder for me that God speaks through the clutter to create beauty. I look at the stack and remember sweet words and moments with Jesus. It's more of a collage than clutter, I think. Love the post and the series! :)
