Day 5 of 31 // The Flow of Our Day is a Rhythm
Saturday, October 5, 2013
Just one of these things I'm learning about motherhood as I go... a lot of beautiful things can happen over breakfast at our kitchen island. It's just me and the kids, getting ourselves in gear for the day. All three of us are rested and ready to start moving. You'll hear sweet little interactions between brother and sister. I am happy to make short order scrambled eggs or fancy yogurt parfaits. And it's those morning hours when I feel the most patient and creative and productive as a mother.
There's an art to finding your sweet spot of the day. Mine just happens to be between 7am and Noon. It's those golden hours where to-do's get marked off so much more easily than another part of the day. Children get your full attention, and I mean ears, eyes, and words. I'm not as good at that after 4pm.
The flow of our day is a rhythm. A dance. A beautiful balancing act. I've come to appreciate it as a form of art.
What are your most creative hours of the day?
