Sowing and Watering

Tuesday, July 23, 2013

Today feels heavy for some reason.  I think it's because I'm currently in a season where a lot of learning is required.  A student of life, I should say.  I'm soaking things in, reflecting, studying, pruning, dreaming and sowing.  I'm taking more than I'm giving, and I'm resting more than I'm pitching in.

It's a little frustrating as sometimes I look around me and see so many people in a season of giving, and productivity and HARVEST.   I envy that season.  As much as I love being a student, I look forward to a time when I can be a teacher.  Of what?... only time will tell.  But I trust it's something valuable, in some small and humble way.

The sowing and watering that I'm doing now will lead me to the season of reaping.

(Garden analogies are always so fitting for life lessons aren't they?)

  1. Bri - This touched my heart. Pulled me in and met me where I am at. I know the struggle we face internally with patience in wanting the goodness that bears fruit. Stay faithful, friend.

  4. I absolutely understand. And you know what? I think God has some PEOPLE that are more sowers than reapers, more preparers than harvesters. I feel like I may be a planter, a farmer who doesn't necessarily see the harvest, and I tend to be tempted towards jealousy for the people who seem to always be harvesting. Maybe, though, it's just that the sowing and preparing and tending stage just takes a LOOOOOONG time before you ever see a harvest :)

    1. Sarah that is such a profound and insightful thought. If that is true, I SO want to be content in my role as preparer and sower! Thanks for this!
